Aphrodite is the goddess of love, beauty, and sexual rapture. Hesiod thinks she was born when Cronus threw his fathers( Uranus) severed genitals into the sea, which began to churn and foam. However, Homer thinks she is the daughter of Dione and Zeus, After her birth, Zeus was afraid that many men would fight for her hand in marriag​e, so he married her off to Hephaestus. He used all his skills to make her lavish jewelry. She was a major contributer to the Trojan War. Hera and Athena did their best to bribe Paris with power and glory, Aphrodite, seduced him with love, offering him the most beautiful female in the world, Helen of Sparta. Paris opted for Aphrodite and so Helen was taken from Sparta to becomeHelen of Troy. Another one of her accomplishments, was her son Eros(Cupid) by her lover Anchises.
*Powers
Hephaestus made her a girdle. Aphrodite was very generous in using her powers to help her followers. She helped Meilanion gain Atalanta for his wife by giving him the golden apples that enabled him to distract and overtake Atalanta in a foot race. She had her son Eros strike Medea with one of his arrows so that she would fall in love with Jason of the Argonauts, which resulted in his overcoming her father Aeetes and gaining the Golden Fleece. She also cared for the orphaned daughters of Panderos and arranged for their marriages. Aphrodite also used her powers to destroy those who tried to disrupt the natural workings of love and sexuality. To punish Glaucus for refusing to let his mares breed, she caused the mares to throw him from his chariot during a race, after which they ate him. She caused the Sirens to grow wings as a result of their wishing to remain virgins. She also supported the Maenads' murder of Orpheus for condemning their promiscuity and advocating homosexual love. After being insulted by six of Poseidon's sons, she struck them mad so that they gang-raped their mother.

In my opinion, I think she used sex to manipulate many people. I don't respect that, but I respect her because it brought many things that we use in today's society to life. It also helped in the formation of history.
